Christkindlmarkt: German Christmas

Date: December 1- December 2, 2012
114th Annual Christkindlmarkt. The Sacramento Turn Verein recreates a 400 year old tradition and draws 1000′s of attendees.  Many craft and food booths, including the mulled wine and choirs singing traditional music.  The event supports the following charities: “Coats for Kids” and “Sierra Regional Ski for Light”, a cross-country ski program for blind and visually impaired children and adults.

Christmas Lights, Chocolate and Wine Tour presented by Dallas by Chocolate

Imagine a cozy ride to view holiday lights, while eating chocolate and sipping wine or hot chocolate!  Explore the lights of  Kessler Park and Highland Park, as well as a few chocolate stops along the way. A Yuletide Madrigal Feast

The College of Charleston Madrigal Singers will perform sacred and secular holiday arrangements during this feast. Dinner will be served and will include cornish hen, haricot vert, wild rice, apple caramel tart, coffee and wine.

Mastersingers by the Sea chamber chorus recreates the magic of an Elizabethan feasting hall.  As you feast, listeners will be entertained by “merrie auld mastersingers” in Elizabethan costume, singing madrigals, Passacaglia ensemble playing their Renaissance instruments plus much more.
